Lavender Hill

Strolling along Lavender hill
Picking flowers of purplish pink
Glancing up, my world it stood still

This man that now, my dreams fulfil
Toward me he looked with a wink
Strolling along Lavender hill

My heart was skipping beats until
My eyes they could no longer blink
Glancing up, my world it stood still

Unbeknown, my life he would fill
He became my hearts missing link
Strolling along Lavender hill

Memories written with my quill
Paper scented of homemade ink
Glancing up, my world it stood still

Now here alone at evenings chill
Watching, wanting, to catch his wink
Strolling along Lavender hill
Glancing up, my world it stood still

Fabulous piece,so romantic and the Villanelle stylization adds a great deal to it too.

  • Thank you for your entry

Well done witht he prompt. Nice flow and nice imagery.

The form was followed well, though you did not choose a specific syllable count, it was not required, just a preference, you did try and keep it between 7 and 8 syllables per line. The anchor lines carried well throughout the poem. One note. Fulfill has two 'l's at the end.

I encourage you to keep writing to read and comment.

    God Bless
    Tammy
