A dying crop in the middle of a heat wave,
No rain to quench its thirst
Wilting in hot summer sun,
Seemingly cursed,
Such is my heart.
Thirsty for your lips,
Hungry for your touch,
Calling out for you
In the middle of a desert sandstorm.
Still cold and distant
But forever wishing to be warm,
And illuminating...
Like a firefly...
In the night sky...
sinking, crawling,
yearning, falling,
Such is my heart.
trudging, sliding,
crushing, dying,
Such is my heart.
//
Joyous rain to take away the pain;
Reviving me; lifting me out of shame
Quenching seemingly insatiable thirst,
And unappeasable hunger,
With a love never before seen by these weary eyes,
Never before felt by this inexperienced soul,
Seeping in and resting under,
With flashes of lightening and sounds of thunder;
A beautiful disguise thrown asunder.
Pulling me out of the desert,
Lulling me with quiet song,
Whispers in the night;
Rekindling light,
Such is your heart.
healing, revealing,
lifting, sealing,
Such is your heart.
gliding, flying,
warming, sighing,
Such is your heart.
Together we are a force
To be reckoned with
Calming vigorous seas,
Deterring sandstorms with incredible ease,
Just with the love our two hearts hold;
Strong enough to move mountains,
Yet in our hearts is where it stays,
Filling endless hours of darkness,
With the sun’s powerful rays.
