Worldly delights

See that shining?
How it's so self centered
It can only see that which is in it's sphere
In the light
You'll find yourself blinded
You'll find that it burns
Like standing in front of a cave at noon
Or by the sea with no cloud cover
The light has even blinded itself
It misses everything

But here in the darkness
Where it's cool
We'll soothe those burns
And restore your sight
Here in the darkness you can see everything!
Even that which hides in the light
Here in the darkness you can be free
No longer falling
Here you can discover the world
Here, the world is open for exploration

Who would have themselves be blinded?
Except those cowardly sheep
Who would hide behind a veil
And give up all knowledge
I assume it's for a "safe" existence
But it burns you out
Leaving only an empty husk
Where there once was a person
Taking away your own brilliance
And hoarding it for itself.

Here... We will let you thrive
You will learn
Here be the wolves in the figurative
Full of knowledge and wisdom
For they do not hide from the world
They embrace it
Here, you can keep your soul
Keep your brilliance
Your inner light
It may not be safe, but it's freedom

So tell me
The light sees only itself
Seeks only it's own comfort
And burns everything it touches
While the darkness sees everything
Both dark and light
And bands together
Who will join me here in the darkness?
To see the world?
You?

Author notes

This is based on a quote of mine: The darkness sees both the dark and the light while the light sees only itself, who will join me in darkness and see the world?

I hope you enjoyed it.

Please tell me what you think
