Flowing through the mortal
veins,
Chained to the physical...
... the chemical.
A beat,
to induce reaction with
reference to the drive.
It is called forth,
It is naturally charged
Rushing.
It manifests,
projected to its audience.
In its many faces lie the many consequence...
In its many faces be the answer requested...
Summoned
often underestimated...
It makes feelers real
It makes feelers alive
To control and deny
logic, brings about a
dominance of the eternal
language.
It in part
is our defence
our attack
our friend
our enemy
our drive
our being.
Author notes
This poem is the first of nine poems crafted around the concept of what makes us sentient. Devised and constructed by the Reputo society, the SENTIENT SPECTRUM lists nine attributes that makes us sentient beings. In this movement, I am trying to capture each attribute within poetic form and explore it's purpose and design.

This poem, 'The Journey of Feeling' is based on the first attribute of the SENTIENT SPECTRUM, that is 'Emotional Response'.
The poem begins with the chemical reaction caused when feeling emotion, then travelling into the external result. This is finished with a definition of emotions purpose.
The attempt was to not mention either EMOTION or RESPONSE in the verse.
I welcome any feedback about the content/context of the poem.
