My All

As I step through these broken and shattered doors
Fear rises through my belly
As I think of the life I led before.

I have never been good with change
Small things become important
Impossible to rearrange.

I look upon the setting sun
My feet heavy and bleeding
Eager for my new life I have begun.

I'm only lonely at night
Restless dreams of wanting
Much to powerful to fight.

I miss falling in love
Laughter and soft whispers
My wings spread flying above.

What does this new path hold for me
A new someone to hold
Or will I turn and flee.

I tend to wear my heart on my sleeve
Then lock it up tight
And run away at full speed.

I will force myself to leap and fall
Hopefully someone will catch me
And I can give them my all.

I really like this piece. It is very powerful and leaves the reader feeling like they've taken a piece of the poem with them. which is always a good sign.
    Great write.

    Very good

I read into this poem a very self contained person wishing to find a way to release the feelings you hold inside. It is difficult for a shy person to jump into the mix nd feel comfortable.
