This is to all the people,
that never took the time to see
the actual me.
Instead they saw through blinded eyes,
never knowing I would mind,
that they were pretending to be kind.
To all of those people,
this is my last goodbye.

Indeed, Emily was never quite understood in her own time, either...yet, now, she is recognized for her genius. Poets are notoriously misunderstood by the general populace, Poet. Still, we must continue in our search for ourselves, regardless of the personal cost of acceptance & popularity. To be different is a good thing, albeit a lonely one.

I read this and (don't laugh and I mean it complimentry) it reminds me of my Grandmother. It just sounds like something she's always said. It's a good piece. Short and strong. Well done
