The Old Apple Tree

Theres an old saying
that i was told when i was little girl
every girl is an apple on the tree
the apples at the bottom of the tree
are a bit sour, not the best
they are there to get picked first
not giving a care who gets them
or what happens
then there are the apples on the top
the tastiest and ripest
those apples are up there to just enjoy the time
living life
those apples are waiting,
waiting on someone who will take the time,
to climb to the top,
and pick them and take care of them
with the outmost care
