unceasing amazement

once i watched the world in wonder
now i wonder when the world will end
the frivolities of mortal men
are immune to me
i've  turned the bend
to wander on this endless range


is it any wonder
time doesn't mean a thing
i've forgotten the true magic
of songbirds when they sing ...

I listen to my cd's
but it is not the same
another bird
another track
another name ...

... all meaningless

the night makes sounds
..uncheery


yes, once i watched the world with wonder
held my breath...
theses days i slumber
and dream of death
amidst hell's thunder

is it any wonder
i am so cold
is it any wonder
my spirit wanders bold ...


i exist
to take
to eat ...
i'm a monstrous mistake

or am i...?

something moves within this
cavernous place  a soul once dwelt
do i feel
or have i felt  ...
now retaining only a residual memory?
this  riddle puzzles me
