Your words are nonsence, colliding
to create unstable memories, flying
to scribble the lies in the quiet night.
My thoughts of you are there, in the back
of the stories, never to be touched. The fire
we had, the trust I thought I knew, extiguished.
Each word, mismatched to create this dishonesty,
this childhood game. Each turn we take, I lose another
life. Written on paper that only turns to dirt.
Disconstruct the frame of mind that you live in,
hidden there underneath the airwaves of my reflections.
Shadows cast doubt on on how you planned to escape.
It's time to tangle the shoestrings you've walked miles in
and never once thought of the pain you caused me.
Follow the lies and the memories you created, that
I will always hate you for.
It's time to say goodbye, to lay this to rest,
escape the the underworld, where hope only lasts
for that second you think you'll make it.
Sleep in your lies, lay breathless for the night, maybe
for the rest of your eternity. I know I'll never be there again.
Because we never shone as bright as all that.

Woww, I love the last line, and the way it links to the title, because the lead up to it was just lovely. Thank you so much for entering, and great take on the prompts. xx
