Your Graduation Day

Sweet memories flash before me,
as a teardrop falls from my eye.
I can't believe how time has flown,
how the years have passed you by.

From skinned knees to paints and crayons,
riding bikes and pictures you drew,
your elementary school days gone,
junior high and high school too.

You are here eighteen years later,
on your own graduation day.
My eyes filled with tears of joy,
and never prouder than today.

I see you in your cap and gown.
You've turned into a fine young man,
one who is willing and able,
and has always said "Yes I can".

There never will be any doubt,
I know that you will succeed.
Your future holds so much promise,
persistance is all that you need.

No matter where life leads you
and no matter what you do.
Michael, just know how proud I am,
and I'll always be here for you.
