Our first taste of love...
As if something inside us is crying,
just crying out, and we can't
assuage what we feel, like a dam
about to burst, the tears welling up
in our eyes, what is this "love" we speak of?
It's as if I'm standing
naked in a room under your watchful gaze,
yet I know that everything
will be alright as long as I'm in your arms,
as if you'll just protect me from
anything I could ever feel,
and you keep me from pain and failure and
keep your smile always there, with your lips against
mine, with the subtle texture of
moonlight against my skin...
Bare in our bed, the world around us fades
away into the dark nothing of bliss, and now
I'll just lie here, dreaming of that chandelier
that bathed us in velveteen light...
If you hadn't found me,
I would have found you.
Author notes
Erm, I hope this works. I was randomly overcome with a feeling of extreme love for my girlfriend, I don't know why, just one of those random insane emotion things, and this is what came out. Hope you enjoy it.
