Soul Whispers

Missing image

The whispering trickle of the creek

became the heartbeat of my soul

the moment I came upon it

feeling its centuries of life

This place I know from long ago

seeing my reflection swirl

through the cascades of rippling water

he was with me then

his essence still present

the taste of our love

renewed fresh in my mind

this land was ours

raising us from our birth

our hearts intertwined

between the hills and the trees

sifting weeds through my fingers

I'm taken aback

and I see us among fields of white

beneath a willow tree

hands folded into each

searching deep into eyes

through a time of purity

a time of simplicity

a perfect moment

resting forever in the tombs of our being yet,

instantly alive from the fragrance of then....

  • Lovely...

Outstanding poemization of the emotions felt gave "Soul Whispers" a sublime voice to sing the revival of time.

I have enjoyed the reading of romantic beauty... "Soul Whispers" glows.

    In respect and admiration,

Memories like these may be from the past, but they have a way of being renewed.

You are truly gifted to feel this connection to a past love. So very intuitive!

  • There's a simple pastoral elegance in your words.... I love the lines "cascades of rippling water," "our hearts intertwined / between the hills and the trees," and "the fragrance of then." The remembered essence of the past brings the poem to a lovely close. Welcome to AP, and keep up the good work!
