He and I laid side by side
encircled in Eros's bond
In my bed
our sheets wrinkled with our passion
locked in absoluteness
refreshed
I felt no shame in my face unmasked
or my hair a perfect hot mess
We did nothing that day
We supported each other in the other's eyes
thoughts
bodies
His fingers would occasionally
move leisurely through my hair
My hands would occasionally
embrace his face
Pure
relaxing
love
The smell of lavender and sandalwood
encased us
encouraging our expressions
The words we shared were profound
Our insight made us intimate
and it seemed to fuel the glorious fragrance
We talked of Manet and Pollock by day,
Diagoras and the Marquis de Sade by night
When hungry we dined on take-out
When thirsty we drank our good friend Jack
The only debate we ever had was whether or not to watch
Looney Tunes or Star Trek
No words can express the pure,
fervent
magnificence I felt that day
My equal had finally be found
But nay...
I awoke
so
very very sadly
to find it was all a dream
my equal, unreal
No Socrates or Hobbes had really been discussed
No liberal views shared freely to the sounds of
Frank Sinatra singing Cole Porter
No night of singing along to My Fair Lady
This moment was unreal
But I still have hope in my heart for you
I feel deeply passionate that you ARE out there
This is a message for you
I am here
I am waiting
I swear I will find you
I believe our hearts have been beating together of so long
We have both just been looking for happiness
I am here
I am waiting

Wow, this poem is beautiful and very easy to relate to. It gives hope to the single looking out for their other half and those in unhappy relationships looking for their happiness. It was cute and well written as well.
Very good job.
Thanks for entering and so sorry it took so long to judge

I like this poem first it starts of like a dream come true to be with the man you love and spend the whole day looking into each others eyes soaking up the day just holding each others bodies gently. To only find it is still a dream and you are left in a bottemless pit of despere just waiting for that very dream to come true. Waiting and beging to get a kick start in romance.
I love this poem the title goes very well because it adds a hint of suprise but I love the way the mood rises and falls. Being happy at first then sad wonce awoken then praying in silence.
really good poem to read
