Having Parkinson’s Disease is a
Little Like being Humpty
Dumpty after his Fall.
You Couldn’t Put Humpty
Together Again.
W.Peter Sanci May 9 / 2009
Well my dear friend’s I come before you with another offering tonight.
One that will make you understand what it’s like to live with this terrible
Disease called Parkinson’s Disease.
It starts off rather slowly, affecting only small areas of you’re brain.
Then it gradually increase to all areas.
Including thought processes, speech,
cognitive thinking.
You name it, it gets affected.
It is rather sad really, because no two
people have the same two symptoms.
Pg. 2
And no two days are every the same.
The thing I hate the most about it is that it takes away you’re indepence.
You become dependant on someone else for practically everything you need.
The first thing that I lost was the ability to drive my car.
Then you must rely on some one
else all of the time to go any where.
The next thing I lost was a job that I really loved and was pretty great at.
I taught high school in a Catholic High
School in Toronto, Ontario for many years.
Now I am in an adult day car center four days a week.
I am telling you my dear friends, having this diseae is no picnic.
Pg. 3
So how do I cope. Well I am a very religious person.
I pray twice a day, attend church as often as I am able.
And with my lovely wife by my side and a supportive family I try to live just one day at a time at to live it as if it was going to be my last day on this old earth.
So pity me not my dear, friends, rather keep me in you’re prayers asking God our loving Father in Heaven to send me the strength I need every day to survive.
The End.
