If only I could be,
as totally relaxed and fancy free
as you, lying sprawled,
on the spread
in an awkward position,
at the foot of the bed.
Stretching a paw,
blinking an eye,
changing position with
an audible sigh;
but never seeming
to be disturbed,
by the shift in the wind,
or a too angry word.
Just letting the sun
seep into your bones,
leaving the rest of
the world on it's own.
Oh, if only I could be,
as totally relaxed and fancy free.
