What if that person you were meant to be with
sat next to you on a plane
you discussed your lives as you sailed through the air
you floated away, literally
Or what if he was the boy you found at a concert
when you kissed you saw fireworks
literally because it was independence day
you never felt more alive
What if that person was the one you fought with
throughout your college years
because you didn't know if you should hold on
or let him go
What if he was the coworker you dated for fun
the older man you tried
to bring something new and exciting
into your life
What if he's that guy yet to come
the one that would be perfect
or the one that you let go, first kiss, first crush
...what then?

I have yet to find my soulmate, I think... or maybe I found him and he slipped through my fingers. Only time will tell
