Love.
Such a funny word
A mere utterance
Shifting your perception
A buffer, it keeps you safe
I’m in ---- (can you guess?)
Makes everything right.

We yearn for it
Desperate
Some not even knowing what it is
Others consumed by it
Weak
Selfish.

We crave comfort
Spontaneity
Long conversations
Passionate kisses
So our hearts jump headfirst
Unsure
Reckless.

Why?
Evolution?
Destiny?
And at the end of the day
When we crave that connection
That touch
That understanding
Does it matter?

Just a thought.
Maybe tomorrow I will ponder the meaning of life
Though it’s not very original
Rather like
I

Love

You

And

    oooo!!!! :) <3 it!!!

oooo...this is soooooo goooooood!!! i want to applaud it twice !!

i like how the ---- (can you guess?) shows how it's so predictable, unoriginal etc..which is the point you're trying to make right...

also like the verse about some not knowing what it is/others consumed by it... - thats so good..and so so true. it's like we all long for it, regardless, as we have been programmed to...and because everyone does... there are plenty of people who don't know what it is, yet still yearn for it...

also like how you have separated out the i love you etc so it is almost like it is just a string of words...means alot less, and that shows how people use it carelessly/overuse it...and how it isn't always used in a thoughtful/genuine way....

    anyways, those are my thoughts

congrats on another fab one...love the style nd structure of this

    <3 u! xx

Thanks hun, I actually wrote this a couple of years ago and revised it last week. I think the words are definatley overused and it's so interesting that it seems to be a universal thing to want to "love and be loved". Also it is funny how quickly you can accept the presence of love and then how quickly it can be seen as not ever being genuine when it ceases to be used by someone who once uttered the words. There is so much pressure to say the words...perhaps they are not understood any more-if they ever were. xx
