The stones were hard and jagged
upon the path I walked
My face was lined and haggared
as the terrine I stalked.
As blood dripped from my toe-nail
I ploughed on through the night
as pebbles tried to impail
my thoughts as they took fright.
The pain was not distinguished
through all the hurt and tears
The fire at last extinguished
I moved on through lost years.
I stopped and in an instance
I saw my way was clear
With gentle, firm persistance
a voice breathed in my ear.
It was a revelation,
that I was not alone
At my hearts instigation
A path formed on it's own.
I stood and I debated
Then stepped upon safe ground
Where stoneless footsteps waited
At last they had been found.

Beautiful, you have a natural talent for rhyme and metre-just oustanding throughout, the imagery, the choice of words-wonderful. Stunning.
