Poet

Once loved, once hated.

i.
Feel the emotion embed itself like a parasite, deep inside of you-
Where it will hook inside and hold on with a barb. You can't pull it out now.
The first day you felt fear.

ii.
Aphrodite rained upon you with arrows of desire,
careful not to hit any organs, sparing your life.
You experienced lust.

iii.
Gems floated down a cheek after eyes viewed death.
Each sparkle disappearing into skin-
Moans from hurting hearts permeate heavy air.
Grief.

iv.
Syllables become words on paper and sentences creep out with a current of stimulation-
from those who feel emotion.
Sensitivity to more than the usual person.

v.
A poet feels
then writes powerful words.

Author notes

i-iii: explain a few emotions

iv: shows a poet

v: what a poet is
