To my dearest Mother,
We had our personal rollercoaster ride,
suffering the mighty ups and downs,
and I appreciate the effort you exerted
in shopping with me - especially
telling me if I looked awful in something,
in applying my makeup and laughing with me,
but also in the finer things, such as
comforting me when I was hurt,
not kicking me when I was down,
bailing me out when I was in trouble,
but also sharply demanding that I
grow up, stop depending on you so heavily,
and to stop being such a childish fool.
For that, I'll always love you.
