Butterflies

Missing image
The wind it tastes of butterflies,
of passion, life, and kisses;
it whispers, promises, and sighs,
and softly reminisces.

A butterfly can change the world
with just one unplanned flight;
so go ahead, with wings unfurled
and bring the earth to rights...

  • This is a familiar poem...

    You know I like this one, although there are some small changes I would make, such as in the second line changing "life" to "lives". Oh yeah, I'm a plural Nazi

    --Katie.

    Very good poem though it could've used a little more but maybe less is more and maybe that was just me for a second.

    They were separate but they were one in a way. How do you know what butterfly tastes like? The world may never truly know.

  • Outstanding

    I liked the idealism and the simplicity of this poem. The flow is excellent and the rhyming exact and not forced. There is a lot to like here. It would be great to think that a butterfly could bring the changes this world needs. I liked the first stanza the most. Congratulations on the trophies.

    I thought that every word was well chosen and served a purpose. I found it rather simple yet profound, but it is often the case that the most simple ideas are the most important. Well done!

  • Bandits Reading List

    This is remarkably well done
    Your flow is well penned and isn't choppy at all.
    Fantastic work

  • Bandits Reading List ~

  • A marvelous poem, this is as fine as anything by the old masters! It sounds as if it could have been written many centuries ago.

    A first look at it assures the reader that care has been taken in its crafting, owed to proper spelling. Once that is established, the reader's defenses relax (no need for extra work interpreting or deciphering the writer's meaning) and the full effect of the art is allowed.

    I liked the italics too, a nice touch.

    • Thankyou so much for taking the time to leave such a beautiful comment, my friend; truly appreciated!

  • yea i really have no poetic form and have no idea what how "supposed" to be writing i just write and how ever it splatters on the page is what it is if you think about it how did all these patters of writing come to be...people just wrote and other people liked it so much they copied that style and turned it main stream so i just try to be as original as i can and try not to give into any preset form of how to do things i guess you can call me a rebel i just have no intrest in learning how people think you should write im more interested in how i write and honestly i couldnt even really tell you what a stanza is

  • very nice poem, it crates some very deep beautiful imagery

  • Short and sweet

    If all the butterflies in the world work together maybe they can bring the Earth to rights.
