Although my body stayed at sea
My mind did flutter gracefully
Upon a candid, unlit shore
Whose land I swam to explore
Whose sands I found to ease my plea
Whose eyes I grew to adore
The land did sooth my anguished mind
Rendered my misery weak and blind
Fought to give me breath at sea
and rid me of my misery
Because of him my mind did find
A shared and unforsaken plea
I did not return to my simmering sea
My heart kept on shared and free
And dazed as night I swam no more
Left my heartache beyond the shore
My mind withdrew for all but he
My days were spent in fantasy's lore
