Across the vast dew covered lawns
Towering high above the immense courtyard
Standing tall atop the round tower
Covered in the creeping, sprawling ivy
Perched on the scenic open turret
The instrument aimed its lens far above
Towards the heavens
Towards those divine lights
Woven into the deep sapphire silk
As they guard over the majestic castle…
I place my eye onto the eyepiece
And gaze in awe as the mirth of the faeries
Drift along the chilling winds
Of the soothing night…

i would like to own a castle one day, and go to the highest tower on a clear moonless night, and just star gaze. that's one of my dreams.

Wow... I don't see how this one didn't win something in the contest it was entered in. This is fantastic. I love how each line is like getting a step closer to explaining just what you're writing about. It gives the poem a feeling of vastness that really plays up that it is about star gazing, for what s more vast than our skies? Beautiful write. I enjoyed it immensely!
