Happy Mother's Day
Having someone replace the love I missed is a gift
Angels couldn’t have given me when I needed it most
Perhaps, in reality, you are an angel and we didn’t know it
People say they walk amongst us and we are unaware
You are the closest I could imagine one being so real
Mom, you have given me the love I craved
Others silently turned their heads and walked away,
Taking a piece of my heart and leaving me behind
Heeding not the misery and tears in my eyes
Every year at this time I realize the blessing that you are
Respecting that you don’t have to be
So, I want to wish you an extra special Happy Mother’s Day
Doing my best to be the man you wish me to be
And return your love with all the warmth in my heart
You deserve it more than any woman who walks the earth!
