That Epiphany

I see the people around me getting caught up in a virtual reality,
They look like those pathetic folks you see on tv acting obscene-
Those people are getting paid to make a scene
And pitch a baby fit over small shit
But this is reality and its virtually what you make it,
Don’t complain about the complications of this life if you’ve made it
This far and you’re not dying in war at this moment,
Its too easy, especially for those of you who are moving on
And taking up a life as a civilian again,
But those who decide to make the army a career
And haven’t made the best out of these days
Will one day be in the middle of a bloodbath wishing they were here,
Wondering why they didn’t have the wisdom to get over the petty shit
While they had the opportunity,
What you put into life is what life will put into you-
So to those who think they’re better because they’re cute,
Because they have good smelling cologne and wear fubu,
It would be wise to take your stuck up nose out of your ass
Because your shit doesn’t smell like roses,
The smell of life and experience is much sweeter,
Even the off smell of suffering is better than all the crap that you’ve probably piled up
Into the compilation you consider to be the truth
Everything that goes on around me makes me wonder if half
Of you have actually suffered from the things you’ve been through,
Or if you’ve just made this big dramatic phantom of the opera ordeal
Over a few missed meals,
I wonder if you’ve had the opportunity to witness and feel some real suffering,
If you’ve had the GOOD FORTUNE of being absolutely unfortunate and have had to scrape your way out of the muddy slaughterhole at the bottom of the pit
And make something out of nothing.
Make something out of nothing.
And you could have almost anything,
And lastly, in case you’re taking me the wrong way, don’t mistake,
This isn’t a rip, this isn’t a bash
Im not trying to make anyone feel like an ass,
Cause deep inside everyone is the potential to make the best of each obstacle,
You’re better than that, and Im glad
Ive had the opportunity to bring you back to an underappreciated reality.
