the silence echoes off the walls
spilling nothing through the hall
sitting here once again
my hope is fading
i need a friend

i reach out and i call your name
yelling that it's not a game
slowly you walk away
im scared and broken
another day

i never thought you'd be so near
thought that you would hold me dear
still you are out of sight
and now im losing
the will to fight

your voice is tearing through my mind
you're leaving me far behind
silence creeps up again
my hope is fading
i need a friend
