Having a mom like you has been such a joy
And I don’t want to lose you for the disappointment I’ve caused
Please find forgiveness within your heart for me,
Placing me back in the place of childhood dreams
Your hugs and kisses made it all better way back then,

Mom, I need them now as much as when I was a boy
Only a little more as I am now a man, or trying to be
Take my words within your heart and
Hear what I have to say as a promise,
Every syllable is meant with sincerity,
Respecting the woman you have become in my life
So, my Mother’s Day gift to you is that I’ll do my best

Delivering the present of the person I am striving to become
And allowing our love to heal the wounds that I have caused
