It’s nearly 7:00 and yet it’s three
I can’t hear the buzzing next to me
“Shut Up!” I say without uttering a word,
before those damn purple elephants herd
The ticking on the wall’s quite strange,
it brings about the vendor’s change
Where was I, oh yes, just about to undress
the naked woman, standing by the camel’s nest
Here it goes again! The lyrics in my head,
can’t make it out, is it Floyd or The Dead?
‘The lunatic is on the grass’
Funny, I don’t hear any grass
‘The Lunatics are in my hall’
It doesn’t matter much now at all
Sleep has failed me, or is it such
that I have failed sleep just as much
Oh, the noise! I can’t see myself think
and cover my ears, I can’t bear the stink!
Could somebody please pull this man
off my back as soon as you can
Damn these flies! Won’t let me rest
they’re so pretty, such nice pests
My thoughts I squander on details
of guts in worms and brains in whales
The tiniest of the largest snail
and the largest of the tiniest tale
~Now pardon me, I must get back to
~waking up to taking a nap

Very nicely done indeed, and I see you visited the gallery and picked up a pic or two of your own.
Some great stuff there. This is the kind of stuff I wanted to see.
Best of luck... Scott

I love it!!! One of my favorite Pink Floyd songs and it blends so well with the prompt and your take on it. Oh, and dare I admit that I felt like you were writing about me... LOL As much as I love the whole poem the ending is the best of all.
