Fated Brown Eyes
It is hard to estimate what lies
Behind the curtain of those eyes
Eyes that smoulder and invite
Yet I must ponder wrong from right
Like precious amber - soft and warm
Yet just beneath perhaps a raging storm
With lids that tremble as you speak
A charisma to make a stout heart weak
Will I succumb to that hypnotic look
Will all my promises be forsook
The soft brown skin and blue black hair
Framing the ever present enticing stare
Speak to me eyes tell me what to do
For God knows I need a hint from you
Sepia succulent balmy brown
Jet black centres just below a frown
Should I tempt fate or walk away
Or kiss those eyes with which you play
Shall I be ruled by wisdom and turn and run
Or shall I accept the challenge and be undone
To hell with caution I’ll stay steadfast
Seize my courage and hold her fast
I feel the emotion within me rise
And all because of those - brown eyes

Were I so wise
to have such eyes
I feel somewhat compromised
since perceptions often lie.
Thanks for your gift. Happy Xmas -

This is such a gift. I thank you so much. Iohagh is going to love this too. She will be so confused on her birthday she won't have time to know she is alone. I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Well, we all know that the picture is Oprah, lol, but why can't we just pretend it's someone else we might want it to be? lol... I read through this poem a couple of times, and my verdict is that it's quite wonderful, and it's taken in the perspective of you speaking to this girl/lady/whoever... It gives the reader (me) a sense of wonder, of enchantment. I wonder if I ever make anyone all crazy with my eyes. (I doubt it very seriously)
lol. I like your invocation of shades, too, such as sepia (a pretty shade of brown). Take care... and I wouldn't be right if I didn't wish you the best of luck in the contest.
Many blessings,
Raven Aurora

*brilliant* Thought-provoking, enticing, beautiful. you used lovely, precise image-words to make the reader just as hypnotized by those eyes as you obviously are. Wonderful!
