I pray the night comes swiftly,
Gazing down the halls once traveled,
Humming softly a song once heard long ago.
Remember when the nights were there?
Now we stumble through our days alone.
The sun in the sky, and so we hide inside,
What do I want?
Just sleep.
With the endless screaming,
And the whole truth beginning to fade away.
And my broken dreaming?
Since when does waking take all day?
Just sleep.
The heat rises from the streets,
Disturbing clarity of the air,
And yet we're locked indoors, breathing,
Hoping for the shade to show.
With the endless screaming,
And the images blurring before your very eyes.
And my broken dreaming?
Who really knows, now, what's truth - what's lies?
Just sleep.

second time around!
Alright, I did promise to reread this. And I did.
Thank goodness, because I really enjoyed it, as well as understood it.
For some reason I was really drawn to these three lines, perhaps randomly, however I felt they were exceptional-

this seems a lot softer (?) than a lot of your other stuff and more...abstract...? a very nice flow, and imagery that makes me go UWAAAH!!! like that. the gentle rhyminess (if that makes sense) is a lot more emotionally impactful than most that I've read. I'll totally give up some clappy guys for you. I'll have to work harder so I can try to catch up to your moste magnificent skillz. k now I'm just ass kissing.
