Eyes dilated from love,
hearts pumping to different beats,
You were the first to go,
I was the last to speak.
Hands held tight,
as if you had any feeling at all.
Words wrapped around the room,
turning the big world small.
Tears free flowing,
there was no time for goodbyes.
I'd hold you in my arms forever,
as if actors, waiting for one last reprise.
