"Gaze up to where the Milky Way traverses the night sky
and you will see a constellation of five small stars on the east bank."
i.
I see you watching from the evening sky, watching me.
Your divine figure always glistening in the night,
and you send me messages of your love.
ii.
It was love at first sight.
We married the day you laid your goddess foot on Earth.
You vowed your love for me and I to you.
iii.
The Emperor and Empress refuse our love and send you off,
and like the stars, you faded away.
The birds sing a bitter song
-it willed us on.
iv.
I will keep working the land as you weave the clouds,
It is nearly the end of a boiling summer.
Just wait until the seventh day July
-when we are aloud to meet at moon's wake.
Author notes
Prompt: Title- Like The Stars, You faded Away
I based this poem on a Chinese Legend (Legend of Chinese Valentine's Day) I made a few tweaks.
Hope this is something you were looking for.
(Maybe slightly blunt?)

I really dig the first couple of lines, you might not have written them, but it just starts it off in a good way.
"Gaze up to where the Milky Way traverses the night sky
and you will see a constellation of five small stars on the east bank."
Anyway, I dig.
