My dear son,
I loved you with all my heart.
And I cry for every moment you and I are apart.
Oh but my dear son how I loved you so,
But you were much too precious to live a life on the go.
Barely seventeen, no money, no family, no home.
I couldn’t keep you safe, fed, and happy as you deserved.
I made the decision because I saw the suffering in your innocent eyes,
And the people you're with now, could easily provide.
You have a mom and a dad now, and a baby sister on the way.
You live in comfort, away from the cold and pain.
Oh my dear son how I loved you so,
I just hope someday you know.

A very touching poem and you made a decision which I am sure was best for both you and your son. I think this is the first poem I have read on this subject and you handled it well.

Beautiful poignant piece. Very selfless love for your son, which he'll know about someday. Thanks so much for entering my contest and for honoring me with a show of your work.

Wonderul piece, must of been very emotional to write. I love how you express all the feelings that you have about what you did for the greater good. Shows sacrifice for another over yourself. He will understand and one day seek you out.
