  • i feel sad for reading this. thank you for your lovely entry!

    • Thanks

dear one! I'm a bit embarassed. I just read Fran's entry & understand what you were asking for. I don't write or speak Afrikaans! It looks to be a very interesting dialect of German spoken in South Africa ~ am I correct? Thanks for not DQing me.

        Dear Friend

I jump the gun with this answer: Afrikaans is not a dialect of German, but there are words that are very similar. Perhaps Dutch is the nearest. Frans

        • Oh....

there I go again showing my ignorance! Dutch is very similar to German no? So ...closer to Dutch? Didn't many Germans settle in South Africa during WWII? It's called Afrikaans 'cause? Is it mixed with local African dialect? I should Google this! I have some Church members from S.Africa who speak this language but never heard it.

            Dear Kathleen

Too difficult to answer, but do a website search and ask those Afrikaans friends to speak 'the language' for you to hear its sound. Also send them some 'boereliefde' [boe-re-lief-de] from us! Frans

  • I had a really hard time reading your poem. you need another back ground or the font on your color. It was pretty good oh you have typos.

    • Hi Friend!

I use Word for my writes. As far as I can see I've no typos. Perhaps your talking about how the Acrostic is presented with the spaces? Is this font color better for you? Thanks for getting back to me on this!
