Angel of the Night

An epitome of faith, hope and charity,
the beloved Angel of the Night
proves loving and caring not a rarity
but a sharing of belief in the light.

Ever vigilant, ever a believer,
she lives each night and day
in the role of the receiver,
accepting blessings to convey.

"She is the light of evening,"
her patients say, "always a listener,
to the future beckoning,
an angel  to us, a comforter."

Her guard never down,
she battles opposition
with a smile, not a frown,
strong in her faith's position.

A flow of words miraculous
streams  from her heart,
beautiful and credulous,
creating poetic art.

By any name we know her light,
by any experience we share,
we say to her, "Kudos,  Angel of the Night,
Denerica, continue to love and to dare!"

      Ah, thank you, Jayde.

So nice to read your words.
      The subject is inspiring
      in herself, tending to those
      confined by illness,
      writing inspirational
      messages daily.

      Great to see you here!

Yes, one needs only to read her words
to learn of her dedication, not only
to her patients, but to family and friends
      and to her beliefs.

  • I love the poem, and the art is phenomenal. Isn't it wonderful when visual and linguistic art can walk hand-in-hand? What a fabulous and unique tribute.... Congrats on the silver; it's well deserved.
    --Sarah--

    • Thank you, Sarah.

For so long I had been painting on very
small clay pieces with liner and fan brush
that I was wary of the pen, which had been
my favorite tool in a previous life!

So as the business grew small again,
back to the pens, and a determination
to post dually, art and words, to keep
      me at it!!!

The subject of this piece, Denise,
      is quite inspirational and so
      worthy of praise!!!

    Angel of the Night

by any name is a comfort for all who go in the night, as I do. Seems I know her/him very well by another name. Misteps are plenty in the dark, and even lights don't stop the darkness, as War is fought against an ancient Adversary. There I go most nights of my life. So, I applaud you, Arty, for a name and attributes to the Angel of the Night.

    • You certainly appreciate the qualities
maintained by an angel of the night.
May one help guide you thru your
      long, long nights.

      Take care, Jack,

      Arty

We can never have too many angels in our midst and your words and graphics, a beautiful birthday tibute.

Caregivers who are called by genuine vocation rather than just the need of a job are a blessing like no other. My mother's facility was run by a christian fellowship and the difference was apparent.

    Congrats on the silver.

    • When there is an St. in front of the name,
one knows there is a high degree of caring.

Yes, special angels. those who attend
people in a place they would rather not be...

      Thanks, pix,

      Aes

Silver, that was fast, you just wrote it earlier today. Congrats. I guess she liked it huh!

Who is Denerica? I've seen the name around. I could go look but you know -- that whole lazy thing.

    • Hey, was just going to send a message to one of the Yems!

If you ever have occasion to go back toany of my pieces, which, of course,
you have read and commented on already, you would see her name there,
for she reads and comments regularly.

A loving lady of faith and as you might guess by the poem,
working at night in a care facility.

I know what you would like---she just did a great piece on Laurel and Hardy--
is having a Charlie Chaplin contest.

Where is Keystone when we need him.
      Sounds like fun for you!

I'll have to give her a look, but not tonight. I have no ambition to read tonight. Getting ready to head to bed soon.

Yeah, that'll teach me to mess with Keystone.

        Hope you are well.

        • Better tonight---
must be all the tomato plants
          in the garage!!!

I know toys always give me a little bounce of energy. Yes, I count tomato plants as toys. I'm sure they've done studies on why that is but I'm not going to go and search for it.

            • YES! The best kind of toys--need to be handled
gently, but eventually will keep on givning and giving!

    Love Joan

    • Ah, we are blessed with angels!

But you have a lockdown on "The angel and the phantom!"
I could see the scene playing on the stage as I read your lines!!!
It seemed so real in its unreality!

      Love and hugs to you,
