A Mystical Circle

I.
In the midst of Mother Earth's most beautiful garden
which is wild, untended, unrestrained;
the perfect place to call upon the magic.

At twilight, where her sister, Lady Moon, just peeks
over the horizon and blesses our presence with her beauty;
the perfect time to call upon the magic.

II.
This is my mystical circle.
Cleansed by air and fire combined in incense
and earth and water combined in consecrated salt water.

In the middle of a forest, soft light.
Sun and Moon, the Goddess and the God
both able to be called. But first to call upon the elements.

III.
The east. Air. The blue candle.
Representing the calming blue of the air
and the breath of life within us all.

The south. Fire. The red candle.
Representing the deep reds of the fire
and the fiery passion within us all.

The west. Water. The green candle.
Representing the sea green of the deepest oceans
and the thirst for knowledge within us all.

The north. Earth. The yellow candle.
Representing the Earth's harvested bounty
and the hunger for love within us all.

The center. Aether. The purple candle.
Representing the spirit of Wicca
and the beauty and love within us all.

IV.
Light the candles and call them forth.
The Goddess and the God who love us all
with more than we could ever give.

Silver candle for the Goddess, gold for the God
to represent the duality; femininity and masculinity
brought together to calm my soul.

V.
The magic has arrived;
Mother Earth and her sister Lady Moon,
the five elements, the Goddess and the God.
They have all come together
to bless the magic. And I thank them.
The magic would not be here without them.
I would not be here without them.

For this is where I feel safest.

Protected by the magic, in a mystical circle.

Author notes

Option 3: Magic.

I wanted this poem to show just how much my magic, my faith and my beliefs affect my life, for without Wicca I'd lose my direction in life.

This poem also represents the protection I feel in a circle, and how I cast my circle. To me, casting the circle is as important as the reason behind it.

And, I realize that I don't use the traditional candle colors for the elements in my circle... if you wish me to explain further, then I shall. Just ask.

    I plan to revise this poem: please leave constructive criticism!

    Your imagery is absolutely stellar, and for a minute, I lived in the world of this poem.

    It was also nice to get a glimpse of your beliefs as well. Though my faith is different, i absolutely know what you mean about it giving you direction in your life, and that's such an important thing.

    I have nothing constructive to say. This is so, so good.

    Blessed be,
    Zach

  • D,you made me feel like I was there with you sister in the circle.I was touched with the scene in my mind of the God and Godess.
