Everyday

In the morning we wake up,
Get dressed to do our thing,
Go to work, to school, to play.
How did we end up this way.

Dinner is normal,
Silently eat,
Our plates in front,
The dogs at our feet.

Discuss the day,
Laugh and play,
But never do we really hear
What each other has to say.

Your still you
and I'm still me,
Years have past,
Can't you see.

We are different than we used to be,
Look at the changes i have made,
Be proud of me, Feel anything,
Show me its real, Make me feel.

Tell me I'm right, Tell me your proud,
Mom I'm your girl, Show me how,
To be a woman, Be the queen,
i always thought you would teach me to be.

who am I kidding... This plea is a lie,
i know you hate me, deep down inside,
I'll stop ignoring, this visible truth,
I'm sorry I'm not enough, to mean anything to you.

  • tragic thoughts from the daughter to the mother. I hope this isnt the case, and usually all our fears of what persons think of us are unfounded and internal. We put expectations of our selves and try to live up to them thinking this is what other also think. I know my daughter and wife are at arms a lot, and most of it is unfounded. take care.
