The mirror of mankind
is the window into the mind.
A piece in an unspeakably
tantalizing puzzle.
The foundation,
an unspeakable power.
Beauty and adversity
lying side by side.
Woven together
like an intricate tapestry.
A gray lonely place
of unforgettable memories.
This window
now open to the world
Unquenchable curiosity
with still so much to be learned.

Very lovely...it was truly beautifully done. You worded everything so well that it made it seem almost enchanting, like you could feel and see everything described. Mirrors, reflections, always good items to use in the metaphors of poetry, they make for such good devices when trying to get a certain message across. Best of wishes to you in the contest.

Wow, very touching! A real eye-opener to the reader
This was eloquently done and it was really pleasing to the mind.
I think the first two comments said it all
Amazing job
Great impact!

you have done such a wonderful job here with your words. The length is perfect, and there is so much depth in what you write...Your ending is quite the finishing touch - like displaying what you know or realize, and yet it is extremely minimal compared to what there truly is...existance as infinite. Ahem pardon my ettin carried away...i have some poems that are of a similar theme (if u r terribly bored and care to read them at all....) the Spiral Nocturne 1 and 2....just kind of the same topic i guess...but yea, excellent write.

This is so lovely! I suddenly feel all magical and happy but slightly depressed at the same time. Your rhyme scheme was extremely effective and I loved how everything was associated with an intricate tapestry. It is almost philosophical and a powerful write that draws you in straight away. It has a beauty that is possibly elvish in nature and you seem to look at life with an open mind and a welcome heart. All in all, this is a piece of a soulful venture and I loved it ( as you can tell by the length of this comment!)
