Venus Fly

I am but a helpless fly
I was only passing by
never intending to be caught
swiped from the air, my truly secure spot.

So now I'm scared of you
and what I know you'll do
you'll pull me in, I'll go down
farther, deeper, 'til I drown

"this is my last breath" I thought, but then
you did something I didn't expect
Without needing a name, "I'll be with you til the end"
Because as it turns out, you just needed a friend

So I stayed in this pool
and you remained uncruel
I began to enjoy my stay
I never want to go away

But then one night, you cried out loud
as a child plucked you from the ground
you were so content just where you were
you didn't notice him creeping behind you, unsure

And now I'm swimming in what's left of you
I'll be running out of hope and oxygen soon
I still haven't realized what happened, exactly
My venus fly trap, Do you still love me?..

In like.. January or this year (2009) I got the line "Caught in your trap" in my head somehow.. It must've been the Horrorpops' song "Trapped". But anyway, I really liked the line.. so I wrote it down. As the days went on I'd think of another thing to add to it and a storyline and such.. I've always liked the whole "Forbidden love that somehow manages" topic because I went through that. And now, about 3 months later, this is finally done. I'm proud.. I don't think I would have finished it, though, without my dear's help.
