myrataal’s poems

Majestic is talent and love unfurled,
Yesterday’s dreams that she pens on a page.
Random musings that she gifts to the world,
An African Queen in a modern age.
Timeless her art, that will outlive us all
And so are her poems that reach deep inside.
Astounding verses we love to recall,
Lasting forever, cannot be denied.
Sappho incarnate, poet of wonder,
Passion of life that is birthed from her quill.
O how her poems have the pow’r of thunder.
Editor, poetess, lending a thrill.
Myra we love you for sending us dreams,
Securely fastened to written moonbeams.

Nice dedication to a fellow poet and well written as always.

  • This is a stunning tribute from one great poet to another. Don't think I've ever seen an acrostic/sonnet before. This is great!!

Acrostic poetry is when a word or message is written vertically using the first letter of each line, usually the title of the poem.

This is a wonderful tribute to a beautiful and talented lady. Myra has wit, wisdom, passion, sensitivity and great humour; her poems have more variety than anyone that I have read.
I like acrostic sonnets, this one is grand. Good luck!

Some write Acrostics with little thought but to place a word that fits the title .
Others like you take the title and perform a serenade of rhyming rhythm Excellent A tribute to a poet i have yet to come across Perhaps i will find time to wander over and view
    Excellent

  • Amazing

  • This is a bit of a thrill seeker sensation of an acrostic, and came across this outide the contest, and I have much appreciation for the poetess myrataal, she's the Bizz. Well done, nice job.

    lovely-like sunset on the Nile.

    Amera,

    Aye-yee are a rhyming wonder
    like stormy summer thunder
and born with a marvelous smile
that makes men wish to stay a while.
for yee are my cubbie of sharp fangs
who gives us all such exquisite poetry pangs.

    love ya,

    Dad

Powerful word use! And a Lovely sonnet! I dont know the person on whom its written, but it surely inspires me to read her work!

  • A wonderful tribute to one of AP's very finest poets.

and a deliciously subtle acrostic to go with it.
