Secret Garden

All senses engaged, sitting side by side,

in our secret garden again.

A giddy excitment, spinning in whirls,
blowing up breezes.
Feeling a thousand emotions tied into
one big knot, pitted in the center
of an existence that was standing still
to all of the outside world.

The here and now was the only thing that
mattered between us as we sat
together side by side.

After drifting on seperate islands,
deseted and apart for so long.

We were brought back to life
by our own forces in nature.
Forgetting all the reasons why seperation

had stood between our two worlds.
We now sat together,
where we had once planted seeds of our love
and then abandoned them,

left them alone to die.

We sat side by side, together again
staring in awe at the beauty of our secret garden.

In spite of our absence,
in spite of the harsh words that had seperated us,
in spite of all that had kept up apart,

in spite of ourselves,
our secret garden had flourished, grown strong
and healthy, full of budding blooms of brilliantly
colorful, hope-filled promising flowers of love.

We sat side by side, in our beautiful garden
watching the flowering blooms open their petals to us

exposing the magnificance of the passion,

the intreicate beauty of the desire,

the strength and resilesiance of the love we grew,

in spite of everything.

Anticipation grows from hope and slender beginnings of green are signs of fruitful footprints upon a heart. Well said my friend.
    Love, Tom B.
