And so it was in the mists of the bay,
a skull and a hand came out to play.
Deftly the bow was drawn by the hand,
swiftly the rum spilled down on the sand.
I saw‘em, by gosh, in their midnight dance;
the skull and the hand did eerily prance.
They bade me come join in for a spell, my
heart beat like thunder, my head like a bell.
To join them, I knew, wouldst end my own life;
they toted a musket and murderous knife.
So’s I turned away and ran like a rat,
fleeing so swiftly that I lost my hat.
Ere I heard them as I sped from their prance,
“Come back, little fool, and join our dance”.
