Standing outside underneath,
a weeping willow tree,
her face upturned toward the sky,
allowing the rain to caress her skin.
A dog runs by chasing after something,
she watches him and smiles,
as the dog prances around with grace,
giving him a untamed beauty.
The birds chirp in the willow tree,
the wind blows gently across her skin,
no need for sorrow when the earth,
gives her the greatest of pleasures.
He approaches her all adorned in black
hidden eyes gaze upon her small figure
smirking to himself he leans against the
weeping willow tree and acquire.
"Why do you stand underneath a weeping willow?"
She turns and looks at him wondering
what caused him to speak to her,
but with a soft voice
she replies to his question.
"I sit under the weeping willow because it is comforting..."
She smiles politely at him,
bowing her head after she spoke
avoiding his gaze she turned away
he watches her in silence.
Soon they both sit quietly under
the weeping willow enjoying
each others company gazing towards
the sky at the stars glittering.
After awhile longer they begin
to talk and share stories
of their past and what they
wish for their future.
Soon they part their ways
traveling down a lonely path
to go about their futures
one day they shall meet again.
He goes to a lone town
where all the girls fawn
and faint over his handsomeness
but he ignores them all.
Having just one woman on his mind
he goes on hoping that they shall
be together in the end,
wanting nothing more then to hold her.
She goes back home where she
had to feed her brothers and sisters
and take care of her poor father
who lay in bed with an illness
She was to busy for the town boys,
every morning she heads into town
getting medicine for her father,
thinking of one man alone.
Soon a year pasts and the same night
they met rain pounds down,
she returns to the willow tree
wondering if he shall return.
Author notes
I was standing outside the other night when it was raining and just thought of something. And then i decided why not. I have two weeping willows out in the front yard and they are enjoyable to just watch as the wind makes the branches sway. So i decided to make a poem/story. Though this is my first time doing so.

Great poem, I love poems that tell a story, as like most of mine do, only mine have dark twists to them. Anyway, I could really picture what was happening in the poem, if I close my eyes I could the woman there underneath the weeping willow with the rain pouring down upon her, and then a man joining her. Realy great poem
