Summer is for us, sisters,
Bonded by love.
We explore our world together,
Kissed by sun above.
Summer is silliness
And jumping around.
Summer is playing
At the playground.
Summer is crafting
And climbing trees.
Doing what we have to do;
Doing as we please.
Summer is animals-
Some could eat a child!
Summer is pretending
We're off in the wild.
Summer is the summer house
With our whole family,
Where we play lots of backyard games
And go fishing in "the sea".
Summer is swimming
And hanging out with friends.
Summer wonder like this
We hope never ends
Bonded by love.
We explore our world together,
Kissed by sun above.
Summer is silliness
And jumping around.
Summer is playing
At the playground.
Summer is crafting
And climbing trees.
Doing what we have to do;
Doing as we please.
Summer is animals-
Some could eat a child!
Summer is pretending
We're off in the wild.
Summer is the summer house
With our whole family,
Where we play lots of backyard games
And go fishing in "the sea".
Summer is swimming
And hanging out with friends.
Summer wonder like this
We hope never ends
Author notes
This picture reminded me of a summer spent watching my three cousins. I looked over pictures I'd taken of that summer to find more inspiration. This is our summer from their eyes, I feel, a summer of exploring the world around them.

My best memories of childhood were the summers spent at my great grandparent's farm and church. The one I remember the most was the one where we learned everything there was about fishing. Ever since, Ive been an avid fan. Mind you, I wont touch the fish, or clean it-may not even eat it if it isnt trout, but I love sitting there with a fishing pole, knowing sooner or later, I'd catch one-and I would

I could see this happening so vividly! And with working on adopting three more, this make me wish they were all here right now with me! Beautiful!!
Best of luck in this contest!

Thank you so much!
I'm actually surprised that you mentioned adoption, as the cousins that inspired this (who look shockingly similar to the children in the picture for this contest) are all adopted. Adoption is a wonderful thing, and people on both sides of the story are equally wonderful people. I feel so blessed the have the girls in my life.
