She smiled, unblinking at the tree
as she watched the little lights twinkle
remembering what brought her here years ago,
mother at her side.
Looking up at the stars, it reminders her of Dad
and how he would ruffle her hair before bed
and kiss her on the forehead.
There smiles will never fade in Winters' eyes,
as she pleas to God to remember a little more.
