Firefly-thin wings so silvery stroking
the moonlight in tuxedo, sighing
sonatas in watercolour curve of
Aurora’s Borealis
Slight boughs summersault mid-air
as they let winds pervade marital
marrow, and grip tightly to Saturn’s
ring with fingers slight as
coffee paper filters-
fearing subconscious slippage
Whispered covenants sink into the
deepest stratum of heavens-
never to rise again as sea foam
from fusing ripples
Hour glass grains are tapering
thinner and thinner by
grandfather-clock tick as church
bells chime in their thoughts,
patience wearing slim-
we were supposed to be at the alter by now
I tip my top hat as she peels off
her veil and we coerce our threadlike
vertebras to soar into parting lips,
but a covetous comet strikes her softly-
burnt brims to a crisp and essence to
wedding gown cinders
She’s my lithium; too delicate for wounds
even in her crumble, she’s seamless
Providence withheld adieu to my bride
and I tumbled through air pockets
of our honeymoon,
alone.
