completely motionless,
we stare at one another -
both yearning to touch,
to feel the other's gentleness
under their own fingertips.
She lunges at me,
I cannot resist her.
I fold my arms about her,
protecting her from the frigid air on her skin.
She looks at me
and I at her.
Pure longing is in my heart,
shown in her bright eyes.
She looks down and away,
only for a second,
but it is enough.
I hold her closer,
she touches my arm,
places her arms tight around me.
We roll onto the ground,
still immersed in one another.
Her eyes find the moonlight,
I allow myself to look away toward the stars.
We both wish the moment to last a lifetime.......
but we both know it would be impossible.

Author notes
Wrote this a week ago and never added it. Came completely out of thin air. I was sitting in English class and it... came to me. IDK, there's something about that class... this is the fifth poem I've written in there. I'll add the rest eventually...

Thanks to Lostanjileyes for the title!

hmm Well ya know what they say about inspiration it can come from anywhere. Very well written , i felt the desire and the agony in this poem. I think of Romeo and Juliet when I read this, So a good title for this would be Star- crossed Lovers..Just a thought IDK, Maybe not quite what you were thinking. Anyway very good keep it up and i will be watching for more writes from you.
