The World Kills

The earth descends upon me
Like a cloudy black spiral
of horrible nightmares

It captures me and takes me down
to the lonesome grave
from which I came

It devours me
from the inside out
yet it still feeds on nothing

Im an empty bottle
I am numb from the pain
cut me with a razor
and I wont feel a thing

Friends whom surround me
Cover me up with a sheet
I am hidden from my mistakes
but my mistakes are not hidden from me

Those who try to save me
leave me with only guilt
for I know that they dont deserve
the pain that they get
from my insanity

I love this gruesome world
Love how it bleeds and wilts
But this world rubs off on the broken

and the broken
only kill themselves

  • I love this gruesome world
Love how it bleeds and wilts
But this world rubs off on the broken

    and the broken
    only kill themselves

those are the best lines in the poem.
I loved the imagery here, and the bitterness.
    Thanks for entering.

Paralyzing concept of the agonies of life. The lines, I'm an empty bottle numb from pain is especially metaphoric and powerful. A naked look at the world and the down side.
