To find the answers you seek,
For a question you do not care for,
And a tone that will not suffice?
How can one open their mouth,
Without fear of secrets escaping?
Secrets their soul cannot keep,
And their hearts cannot bear.
How can one tell a mother,
Of the fingerprint left on her child?
To ruin the mother's ease, serenity,
And cause destruction and chaos.
I cannot be the one that shatters this,
The delicate glass that is your world.
I will not contaminate your mind.
I cannot leave you unprotected.
Author notes
This won Poem of the Week in my school. Yeah it is very common since it is every week and many have done it, but it is my 1 and only High School achievement

How can one open their mouth,
Without fear of secrets escaping?
- simply put - one can not, secrets will spill from the tongue with every word released

This is full of deep thought and wonder.
It leaves me wondering if you are the child that you speak of.
How can one open their mouth,
With out fear of secrets escaping?
Secrets their soul cannot keep,
And their hearts cannot bear.
May this soul be filled with love and warmth.Well done poet.
