I’ve said it all ‘till my lungs have collapsed,
Words cannot change the world,
But a single man with a raised finger can slaughter armies,
We the people live and bathe in blood,
Content to let others die for our comfort,
God forbid we work for our lives,
Why work when others can spill their essence for us?
My spirit has been drained and beaten,
My mind is out of existence,
The only thing that I have now is my beating heart,
This world has no place for individuals,
Black sheep are slaughtered for entertainment,
We hung a ruthless dictator and rejoiced that he died,
We shoot men every day and rejoice their death,
Does their brown skin make a difference?
Or is it the fact that they believe that we are the Devil?
We deny it so vehemently because we know it’s true,

Mothers protect their children for the “harsh” reality,
What is there to protect them from when it is commonplace?
If you put your ears to the TV you will be theirs,
Are we so easy to convince that’s all it takes?

A theory of destruction soon approaches,
What happens when it all turns out to be a lie?
Stay silent so conflict passes you by,

Can you deny your existence to stay out of the spotlight?
Never will you see the light of day,
Clinging to the little security you have,
Thinking it will disintegrate under the sun,
Will you let the light burn you?
Or will you venture out into the so called war zone?
War zone that is society,
